Abstract:

Incorporating the adherence to the Party's leadership into the essential requirements of the Chinese path to modernization represents a significant judgment in the history of the Communist Party of China's understanding of socialist modernization.The relationship between the Party's leadership and China's socialist modernization is a fundamental issue that runs through the historical process of the Chinese path to modernization.After socialism with Chinese characteristics entered a new era, the understanding of this issue has also entered a new stage of innovative development.At this stage, the Party has deepened its understanding of upholding the Party's leadership from the perspectives of the essential characteristics and institutional advantages of socialism with Chinese characteristics, China's national conditions, and the category of the fundamental system.Establishing the Party's leadership as an essential requirement of the Chinese path to modernization signifies that the Communist Party of China, after a long historical exploration centered around the historical questions of what kind of a great modern socialist country to build and how to build it, has constructed an indigenous knowledge system on the issue of modernization.Establishing the Party's leadership as an essential requirement of the Chinese path to modernization also reflects the high degree of self-awareness of the Communist Party of China in the new era regarding its mission and responsibilities in the face of the contemporary demand to comprehensively advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through China's modernization.
