On the Human Rights Implications of Digital China

Abstract:

The construction of Digital China is a major strategy in the pursuit of Chinese modernization. It serves as a key driver for developing new quality productive forces and achieving a high quality of life, carrying profound human rights implications. How does Digital China unleash new momentum for human rights development? First, Digital China strongly empowers human rights subjects by enhancing subjective value, safeguarding subjective dignity, shaping subjective personality, and protecting subjective human rights. Second, Digital China deeply updates and strengthens human rights objects by upgrading normative structures, establishing rights attribution, promoting morphological evolution, and improving remedy mechanisms. Third, Digital China comprehensively optimizes human rights values by achieving digital justice, enhancing digital benefits, maintaining digital security, and ensuring digital freedom. Finally, Digital China effectively guarantees the right to digital development, efficiently unleashes human rights momentum, promotes the development of human rights in China, and establishes a new model for global human rights governance.
